The UPS monitoring packages and Bright UPS continuously checks the status of the Utility AC power and UPS conditions including the battery capacity. In the event of a prolonged power outage and before the battery reserve is exhausted, the Power Management Software will proceed to save files and facilitate a graceful application and operating system shutdown to avoid damaging computer data. These packages provide a range of other UPS monitoring, control and communications functions that are described in product data sheets that can be selected from the tables below.

Two basic types of UPS monitoring packages for UPS Interfacing are available:

1. The RUPS type of package communicates with the UPS by monitoring discrete contact closure signals to identify the loss of AC and the low battery condition.
   
2. The UPSsilon type of package communicates with the Bright UPS using the RS232 serial data and also supports added functions including analog power data analysis.

SNMP Agents and supporting hardware are also available for WAN communications

RUPS 2000-1 (Windows & Linux)	RUPS 2000 provides automatic file save and orderly system shutdown for prolonged power failures. It uses contact closure status from UPS to communicate with RUPS software in the connected computer. Supports Windows, Linux and other systems. (Refer to Data Sheet)
RUPS-UNIX (Unix, etc.)	RUPS for Unix provides automatic file save and orderly system shutdown for prolonged power failures. It uses contact closure status from UPS to communicate with RUPS software in the connected computer. Supports Linux and other systems. (Refer to Data Sheet)
UPSilion-2000-1 (Windows & Linux, etc.)	UPSilion 2000 provides automatic file save and orderly system shutdown for prolonged power outages. It communicates via RS232 Serial interface to support graphical display of UPS status. These include input/output voltages, frequency, load, temperature, battery capacity and other analog values. SNMP-Card-502	Internal PCB that makes the UPS "SNMP Manageable" via wide area networks or the Internet. It interfaces with the UPS RS232 Serial facilities. (SNMP MIB II compliant)
SNMP-Adapter-503	External module that supports either RS232 Serial interface or Contact closure signals. It makes the UPS "SNMP Manageable" via wide area networks or the Internet. (SNMP MIB II compliant)
